Lake Chaparral Tri
Well; I’m a month late in writing this commentary. Nice weather and work got in the way. I should have started with a yahooooo! Being old(er) does have it’s benefits …. like having fewer competitors in your age grouping …. which helped me get another 2nd place finish. My overall time for the Olympic Distance was 3:13, almost 1 hour faster than my first Olympic Distance in the spring. My swim was great; 40 minutes and I did not panic!!! The bike was good and the run (which some of the elite competitors felt was about 1/2 km long) was just okay.
I did enjoy the venue. Lake Chapparel is a pretty subdivision, not quite as hilly as Arbour Lake, but enough to make me curse. The bike had one long hill, on which I managed to do most of my passing, so I guess that means that I am getting stronger.
I’ll definitely do it again and would recommend it to my friends.
