Today felt like a Training Day

Feb 26, 2008: Wow, Watch out Don (Jarhead), I’m coming at you! What a day! 2 runs - 15.5 miles inc. 4 barefoot miles, 5 miles of hills and NO Oatmeal and Raisin Cookies.
The workouts are finally starting to feel like training!
The barefoot miles felt great. My only problem seemed to come on the down hills, which caused some minor blistering on the outside of the ball of my foot. I think rubbing from the braking motion was the cause. Next time I will increase my roll over and maybe stride length to see if that helps.
On second thought; Reading about Jarheads hill routine on Mt. Finlayson and yesterday’s tire routine at Beacon Hill Park makes me realize that I have a way to go before he as to look over his shoulder for me! Alas, I can always use age as an excuse.
