Out from Hiding!

Well, I managed to do it again……. Go a month without an entry!
Since we last talked, I completed the Sooke Sprint Tri, did a 100Km ride together with several shorter (50 to 60 KM) rides. All was going well till my very first bout of swimmers ear from which I’ve been suffering with for two weeks now. The last time that I went through this much pain was many years ago when I used to get migraine headaches. Now, after 12 days and several different medications, most of the pain is gone but the ear is still so stuffed up that I only have about 25% hearing in it. Hey Doc. I’ll be calling you tomorrow. Now doesn’t it seem that the only time that I have something to say is when I have a problem. Hmmm? I’ll have to try to change that. Anyway, the Sooke sprint went well; I was the last one out of the pool (as expected), had a very good ride (passed 12 to 15 of the people who beat me out of the pool and ended up with a reasonable run. Total time was about 1h30m. I have to say that both the bike and run were hillier than I expected. (Truth be known - even the swim felt like it was a bit up hill.)
Two weeks till he Shawnigan Lake 1/2 Ironman. Looks like this will be another event where I gut it out and promise myself that it will be different next time and that I will “train harder”
Talk to you soon;
Bill
