3 Sleeps to go!!!!! The Long Trip to Penticton
The day started off great. Up at 5:30, packing all done, a quick shower, load the bike and goodies and I’m off for the ferry. I reached Swartz Bay with 5 minutes to spare and was able to drive right on. What a great way to start the day! The road trip was uneventful. I played little mind games, measuring the lengths of the inclines and checking the altitude change on the car’s mapping system. The Coquahala Highway would make a great training run for Penticton. One trip from Hope to Kelowna and Richters would seem a snap.
Each year Coach Grant hosts a race dinner at Sumac Winery so tonight I was able to get together with people from our TI swim group. It was nice to see them all again. One look at their lean bodies and it was pretty obvious that they all had a more intense training schedule than I did.
I still haven’t decided if I will parade my new “tighty whities” at the fun run tomorrow morning. It will probably depend on how early I get up.
Time for my beauty sleep.
Talk to you soon;
Bill
