New high for the year!

I turned up the jets last week and got in just under 8 hours of quality training. With 13 days until the UBC Olympic Tri, I have been concentrating on my swimming. I hit the pool for 5 training sessions last week and logged around 10Km, 25 metres at a time. Coach John gave me a couple of good kicking tips which has really helped on the flutter board; the big one – kicking pigeon toed. He also corrected the first part of my stroke. He has me pulling my hand down to the elbow and then pushing back with my elbow. It has made my stroke much more powerful. Now all I have to do is integrate a glide and I will be away!
I did my first outside ride on Saturday; 32Km in an hour and 15 minutes. I felt good during and after the ride so I guess that I haven’t lost as much as I thought since November. I would like to get in 3 more 40Km rides, 2 swims in a 50M pool and 2 or 3 10 to 12 Km runs in before the 8th. This will be my first pool Olympic Tri so to finish will be my goal!!
Talk to you soon;
Bill
