Adapting! 1:40:17

I met Boob and a few other IRR runners at Thetis Lake this morning and what a gorgeous morning it was! The sun even came out and it really made the run one of the best in a long time! The Thetis trails are excellent for building aerobic and physical strength and you can’t beat the scenery! I felt really good this morning. We ran at a good clip and got back to the p-lot in 78 minutes. I had to do an hour forty so I continued back to the start of the Thetis relay and timed the 5km loop and did it in 20:10 and still felt energetic. I think I am finally adapting to the mileage. Yesterday’s and today’s runs felt very strong so I am guessing my body has adjusted to the bigger weeks I’ve been doing. So, now is the perfect time to start to pull back and get rested and ready for Nationals in two weeks.
I boogied over to Ferris’ and had a great brunch with Shan, Jen Mac and Jennie and then did some bad, bad girlie shopping. I bought a black cocktail dress and a pair of jeans…I really didn’t need either but for some reason I was in the mood to shop!

No kidding. What a moron! Oh well, I guess I’m allowed a splurge every so often…right? RIGHT?!!!
How do you feel? Did you wear your new chapeau today?

We’ll have to talk to Maestro about splurges…
I’m feeling good, was toasted right after the run but they are much better now. I think the legs are adapting well.
The new gloves and toque were blissful!
