The spin this morning was 25 minutes with a shorter run too tonight of 50 minutes. After three weeks of higher volume, it looks like we’re going to ease up a bit until after Nationals.  I have to say the higher mileage has made me feel stronger (even though it made me feel more tired, if that makes any sense). I think I got up to about 110km /week, plus a couple of hours of spinning…not a huge amount for some but for me at this stage,  just enough.

I was able to stay on the trails at UVic for most of tonight’s run. The sky was clear so we had some moonlight which helped light the way. As I was doing my strides on the in-field of the track, Marty P came over to give me some technical tips. He was curious to know how/why I was doing the Pose drills. He didn’t know about the Pose Method so I tried to explain how it worked. We exchanged some ideas on how to get a more efficient stride…it was very cool! He coaches sprinters so he would know a lot about getting the most out of your stride.

I drove home, did 3 sets of my strength routine, ate and drove downtown for my massage with the fabulous Kim Ward. Her massages are truly the best! I love that she puts heating pads on the areas she is not working on so you always feel warm. She said my calves need work but we’re going to wait until after Nationals to go to town on them.
