No spin or morning run for me this morning. Juice did a run at the lakes in the late morning and said he felt good. I didn’t think he should jump into a track wo after having taken a week off . I met LeRoo at the track after work. She was still feeling a bit beat up after the Bear Mountain race so she wasn’t too sure how she would feel. The WO was pretty tame though: 500m at 1:45, 60″ recovery, 300m quick x 6 sets with 2 minutes between sets. It was so freekin’ cold last night but luckily there was hardly any wind. When we got to the track after the warm-up, IRR was finishing up their WO and everyone had steam floating up off their bodies like smoke! The 500s felt very comfortable so I ran the first one too quickly as usual. The 300s felt good but I guess  the last few weeks of doing longer intervals have left me with legs that aren’t used to a super fast turn-over. I didn’t want to push to the point of straining or muscling in the 300s so I just accepted that 54s were where I was at tonight. I’ll get quicker hopefully once I get used to doing shorter stuff on the track. My times for the 500s/300s were: 1:40-54-1:44-54-1:43-54-1:45-53-1:44-54-1:45-52.

LeRoo and I had dinner with John at the 5th St Bar and Grill right after the run. Service was a tad slow since they were really busy so I got home a bit later than I wanted. Juice got home from rehearsal only minutes after I got home and was surprised to see I wasn’t already in my jammies, cuddled up on the couch. With a late night and less sleep, I’ll be good and crabby tomorrow!

  1. Em:

I love the way we all look on the track in winter, with the bright lights shining on us and the steam rising it looks pretty cool.

But Brrrrrrrr, it sure does get cold in Melbourne in the winter and I bet it gets even colder up your way.

I got an e-mail from your mate Patrick today, he will be in Melbourne in a couple of weeks.
