Sly is such a dolly! He swung by on his way to his run at Thetis this morning to drop off the 7mm spikes he had. He took them off his own shoes and gave them to me. I called every running store in town yesterday looking for longer XC spikes and everybody is out. I have 5mm and the folks out east are suggesting to have 9mm at least or even a few12mm. Well, 7s are better than 5s. I am hoping I can mooch some off of another runner once they are done their race or that the BC coaches will have a few extra.
I went to work early this morning so I could sneak out in the afternoon for a WO. I had a massage booked at 5:00pm so this was the only way I could squeeze it all in. So, at noon I did my warm-up and then met Matty at the track. I did a few strides and then started the WO. I was to do a few sets of 300s but I could tell I wasn’t feeling too hot so right away, the first set started feeling too hard so we cut it down to some 200s…again, not feeling great. I am hoping it’s just the day and I will be feeling better by Saturday. On a good note, I had such a wonderful massage with Kim Ward. I am so happy to have found her. We are going to continue the once a week appointment right through the New Year.
It turns out my brother Ed his wife Jennie and my niece Eden are coming to watch the race. They live in Bratford which isn’t too far away from Guelph. Barbara and David are coming from Stratford too so I should be able to get some visiting time in with them! Yay! They say it’s pretty cold out East. Fun! I am pretty excited to be going to Nationals and will try and soak up as much of the atmosphere as possible.
Ok…time to get to bed…early flight….grrrr….

Hey, best wishes for Sunday I hope you have a great run. Runners are usually very generous I am sure you will have no problem borrowing some spikes, I’d lend you some
A great massage therapist is the most valuable asset a runner can have next to a great coach, mine is fantastic, I have been with her over a year and she knows my body better than I do.
