Yesterday was a rest day. Friday nights feel so strange because I don’t have to run after work. Juice and I got some errands done and had a nice dinner together and then I spent a quiet night in and got caught up on some emails while Juice attended a concert.

I got up at 5:45 this morning. I didn’t sleep much last night or the night before so I was feeling pretty pooped. The wind was blowing pretty hard making the windows rattle…the idea of running along Beach Dr. next to the ocean didn’t seem like such a hot idea but after a quick call to the coach, it was confirmed it was a go. I met Matty at the Oak Bay track to start the warm-up. We bumped into Phil and Cheryl running in the dark toward the track to start their WO. We chatted a bit then ran to Beach Dr. I did a 30 minute tempo run this morning. The wind had died down a bit so that was lucky but I wasn’t feeling too perky having not slept well. My heart wasn’t into the run at all so it was nothing stellar but I got it done.

I had a big day ahead of me with a lot of stuff to do. No time for a nap this afternoon but we did manage to get everything done including my 30 minute spin just in time to get to Alan’s for the IRR Christmas party. There was TONS of food and even more booze! Alan, Deb and Brent decorated that afternoon so the living room looked really festive. No one could believe I made the lasagna I brought…sigh….should have taken a picture of it! Juice had a concert so he couldn’t make it until about 11:00 so he missed the hilarious gift exchange. Last year a rooster that moved and made noises was the hot item to trade…this year it was a goofy looking reindeer that danced to music…go figure. Of course, there was a thong. This year Shan landed it along with a bottle of wine. That got exchanged around  a lot too.

Shan made $20 that night selling those classy panties to Brent…they eventually made it on to his head…an anual event now.  We had a lot of laughs and I think everyone had a great time.
