I met Dave after work for a warm-up and then met the rest of the O’Callaghan running group for his 10-miler through Broadmead. We had a nice group out tonight. I am going to run the Cobble Hill 10km on Sunday so my plan was to start out easy, work a few hills on the way out and then run steady on the way back. The route has changed quite a bit since the last time I was out so I stuck with Rui and Paul for the first 15 minutes or so. By the time we approached Amblewood, Ming was running a ways ahead. Paul told me to gradually try and catch up to him so off I went and worked the hill…that loooong hill. It was good having Ming in front to chase. I did 20-30″ surges all the way up. Once I caught up to him near the top, we ran together at a steady pace. Of course we got lost so we turned around and headed back, chatting most of the way. It turns out that everyone got lost tonight. Too funny! I will study the map next time! The route is much better though now with the downhill of Amblewood taken out…nice!
Juice ran with IRR tonight and got home just before me. We made a cozy fire and watched another couple of episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. We still don’t have our satellite connected. We had to bring it in while our new balcony is being installed. The satellite is in the spare room at the moment on the floor. I thought I would go mad without TV but you know what? I don’t miss it all! As long as we have dvds to watch it’s fine. There are no commercials and you get to watch what you want…provided you don’t run out of dvds you want to watch…hmmm…I hope the balcony gets finished pretty soon.
