Early Run & Wipe Out! 49:21

I had to get some shopping in tonight after work so I had to get my run done early this morning. The alarm went off at 6:30. Juice said he would run with us this morning but there was no signs of life on the other side of the bed so I let him sleep. Dave J said he might make it but when I got to Cedar it was just the two die-hards…me and Glenn. It took a few minutes longer to run to the trail this morning because the streets were really icy, especially the smaller side streets. We did two loops and then I carefully ran home. The pavement on my street didn’t seem slippery at all. I tested the strip I wanted to do my strides on and it was ice-free (the grass in the park is now saturated and too soggy to run on). So, off I went and did about four strides with no problems. I started walking back to do my last stride and a car was coming towards me so I moved over and wham, down I went, landing on my left hip and elbow…ow. I got up and felt ok…whew!
I had my first lesson with Selena since Christmas. She had a relaxing vacation but said she was anxious to get back to teaching…she’s incredible! The lesson went well although I feel I am a bit out of shape.
So as the day progressed, I could feel that the little spill I took this morning was going to have some repercussions. By the end of the day my neck and shoulder felt a bit sore. I am going to put some heat on it to try and loosen up the muscles. I think I jarred my upper back and neck …way to go klutzo!

These are the times when that walker would come in handy…

Sure, kick me while I’m down!
