Morning Spin- 45′ Run with Plyos
Friday, April 4, 2008
Yesterday was a scheduled day off. I got in a really restful evening and got to have a long chat with Squintch in Quebec. Juice emailed him photos of our cherry tree in full bloom as Squintch was describing the 4 feet of snow that had accumulated on his balcony this winter….he should be able to bbq by…oh….end of June! Ha!
This morning I did a 30 minute spin on the trainer followed by some core work and a good session of singing. After work Juice and I met Boob and Andrew at the lakes. I ran with them until we hit Hamsterly Beach where I stopped to do a light plyo session…2 sets of 4 drills. OCal sent me this great youtube video to inspire my Maasai jumps…now that’s some springy action. I continued around the rest of the loop…felt really good but kept the pace under control. I’ve got a speedy session tomorrow so rest is where its at.
When I got back to the p-lot, Juice was there waiting for me and said i had just missed LeRoo who had just left for her loop around the lakes. I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote a note. I stuck this and a box of Girl Guide cookies (another bad-for-you love I have) which I had purchased earlier today (ok, ok, so I bought a few boxes…it was to help the Girl Guides…shut up.) on her windshield under her wiper. When we got home, we listened to a message LeRoo left thanking me for the note and cookies and then went on to explain she realized part-way around the lakes that she had somehow dropped her key and had to carefully retrace her steps back to the p-lot. Having had no luck with the search, she was about to give up when she found my note and the box of tasty treats AND her key with another note! Someone found her key on the ground close to her car and left it on her windshield…this is a BMW convertible…they could have driven it away…and could have enjoyed some Girl Guide cookies as they drove off!!
