I hooked up with Juice after work for an easy cruise around the golf course. We ran there from home, did a figure 8 and then ran back home. My legs are a bit sore (upper quads) which is a sign I wasn’t running tall…probably muscling my stride. It kind of felt that way while I was racing so I am not surprised. I did get my massage in with Kimmy (an angel!) last night and even did a 10 minute ice bath…that was not fun. She suggetsed I start doing this after races or wos to help speed recovery. So, I dumped two trays of ice cubes in cold running water. If I could have screamed as I lowered myself into the tub without the all residents of condominium hearing me, I would’ve. I got treated to homemade cake that Juice baked for me as a congratulations for my run…how sweet is that?! It gave me something to look forward to after the horrors of the ice-bath.
I forgot to mention that Slaw also ran a PR at the Sun Run…nice going!

I can’t beleive it’s April and I am drinking Hermannator. No one pinch me.
I’m at peace, sister…

Mar,
The ice baths are a little less shocking if you get in first and then add the ice.

Juice or the cake…lol
I follow the advice that Paul gave with the ice, but I take it one step further. I sit in the empty tub, then run the cold water and finally add the ice!!! It sounds sadistic; however, I believe it is less SHOCKING:)

I did this once before and got in first and then turned the water on and added the ice…this can be tortuous in a different way as the water line slowly creeps up….why do we do these thngs to ourselves?

I was going to make the get in first and then add water suggestion too, that’s how I do it. Those ice baths are so much more horrifying in the winter too!
And we do it because we are runners
