I did my run in the morning today so I could get in more recovery before tomorrow’s track wo. OCal said it would be a speedy session! My legs seem to be recovering faster so I think they now realize the holiday is actually over. Speaking of a holiday, I have no idea why but work has been just insane since February. and I truly need a holiday! It usually slows up at the end of term but not this year. Sheesh!

Juice will be conducting a performance of Madama Butterfly for the Montreal Opera this weekend. He is stepping in for the conductor who has done all the rehearsals and performances up until now and needed one performance off to do another contract. Although Joey has conducted this opera before, this is an entirely different production, different singers with different staging (he has to cue the singers as well as the orchestra), different and larger orchestra, pit and stage (both much larger). He has been observing the rehearsals so he can get a feel for Yannick’s style and tempi (Yannick Seguin is the conductor Joey is replacing). He was given one crack at it last week, a dress rehearsal, where he stood on the podium for the first time and ran the show straight through in front of a dress rehearsal audience. I can’t believe he did that and he did so well. So tomorrow will be his second and last time to  conduct the show but this time it’s in front of a real audience. Salle Wilfid Pelletier in Place des Arts holds close to 3ooo people and it’s sold out! Most of his family will be there to watch him conduct…I am so excited and proud! He comes home Sunday…it’s been a long three weeks!
