Juice and I ran at the lakes this morning. This week is all about recovery so I just did an hour of easy running and spent the time thinking about the  5000m on Thursday. I have to say, I am a bit nervous which I guess is to be expected. I haven’t run many track races and the ones I did do where over a year ago so it’s kind of unknown territory. The good thing about that is that I have no expectations and can just run it and see how I do. Since I am not very experienced, I think I have to draw from my road racing experience and run it as such and try to forget I am on a track going around and around…try to stay relaxed. So, as I ran today, I imagined myself running quick and relaxed. I know this race will be a great experience no matter what happens. It looks like two Vikers and I will be singing the National anthem right after our race. This should be entertaining.

We are expecting company this week so after an ocean icing (Kimmy is going to be so proud of me!), I did my “white tornado” routine and got the place spic and span. Barb arrived this afternoon so I made a nice dinner and we had carrot cake from Pure Vanilla Bakery for dessert.

Squintch arrives Tuesday and he will be staying with us for the week leading up to baby-face Pan-Pan and Lin’s wedding. This will be a blast! I will be flying back from the race in Ottawa on Saturday and will be going straight from the airport to the reception which is at Bear Mountain resort. They have blocked off a bunch of rooms there so I think we’ll just stay over Saturday night so we can party into the night. I wonder if I will last past midnight!
