Wo at the Lakes 1:23 07

Yesterday was a day off from training. I sang in the morning before work instead and it was a good one!

I met Kerry at the lakes for some km repeats this morning. Kerry was given 8 to do while Jon said I was to do 6 with 90″ rests which was perfect for me.  It was terrific seeing Kerry again and we were both happy to have each other to do this wo. We ran the repeats between the 7 and 8km markers where it was shady and the distance accurate. There was A LOT of traffic this morning so considering we had to do some weaving and the footing  wasn’t super smooth, we ran the repeats decently and we made a good team! I wasn’t feeling super frisky today but I think it’s just a matter of  getting back into the groove of some quicker running. The times were consistent enough and were between 3:25 and 3:30 which is what we were aiming for. Kerry has a race next weekend and is extremely fit so it will be exciting to see her fly! It was fun having her there helping me stay focused today…thanks Kerry! We’re hoping to do some more wos together over the summer so I am looking forward to that. We have to make sure though that we pay attention to the time spending cooling down. We were yakking away and lost track of time…next thing you know were 15′ out from the p-lot and had to run back. oops.

I got in an icing in the afternoon, went downtown with Juice to do some errands, picked up some groceries and then got ready to head to Paul and Lis’ for a BBQ. I made an apple crumble and potato salad and Juice made a lemon meringue pie. Shan said the burgers that Paul BBQ’d  were the best she had ever had. I thought so too. The patties were bison meat,  and were topped with bluecheese and served on bacon/cheese kaisers…heaven! Our desserts were a hit. It was a new apple crumble recipe and despite screwing up the topping by adding too much brown sugar, it worked out ok. That was a fun evening…gotta love the summer!
