The run today was good. I met Jon at Thetis Lake and we ran over to Royal Roads with detours on the Juan de Fuca trails on the way there and back. We had the cutest golden retriever join us for a bit. She was a teenager and was off-leash and joined us as soon we passed by her and her owner.  The owner called her but she was having the greatest time running along with us and heard nothing. She was hardly annoying as she ran nice and steady beside us but we were afraid she wasn’t going to turn back and we would lose the owner. We ran back and thought the owner had got her back on the leash but shortly after we had turned around to continue along our way, the pup came charging back to us. We tried to do a pick-up to see if she would give up but no way! We tried everything including shooing her but neither of us could be mean enough…had you seen this cutie, you would understand. I ran her back to the owner and this time he put her on the leash. He explained his daughter normally runs the dog and thanked us for giving her a run. ha! She was a beauty and the owner is lucky I didn’t kidnap her!

Jon and I had a good chat about racing and training and the idea of doing a marathon next spring came up…it’s in the discussion phase right now! Ha! I have been thinking about it lately and asking Jon a lot of questions so we are giving it some thought. I feel if I am going to take a stab at the marathon and run a good time before i get too old, I better start thinking about it. I trust Jon completely so I feel confident that it will be a positive experience.

Paul and Jac invited us over for coffee in the afternoon. Juice had stuff to do but I swung by. Chops and Lisa were there and let’s not forget Paddy. I just loved it when he (Paddy, not Chops!) drank some water and then proceeded to shake the water off which sent saliva and water flying all over the place. My legs got most of it but I did have to wipe some slobber off my face…and my lips…ewww!

I did my strength and core session after dinner and then relaxed for the rest of the evening.
