Hugh lives in Victoria, B.C. and works as a paralegal with the Ministry of Attorney General. He has alternated between competitive cycling, running, and duathlon for nearly 20 years. He is currently sponsored by Craft clothing and Frontrunners.

Hugh has twice competed for Canada as an elite competitor in the World Duathlon Championships and was third at the 2003 Duathlon Championships. He has also been a competitive cyclist and was first alternate to a National team project (Beauce 2000) and was 4th in the 1999 B.C. Cup Road Cycling series.

Hugh’s running PBs: marathon - 2:31 (1994 Vancouver); half-marathon - 1:10.06 (1994 North Shore); 15km - 50.49 (Merville ?) 12km - 39.47 (Cedar 2005); 10k - 32.40; 8km - 25.55 (Sidney 1996?) 5km is 15.50 (?).
