Form and fluidity – 42:16

I made it out this afternoon but had to bail on the “Ease back into it” session because of some errand running that I needed to get done downtown while I was out. After making the needed stops I made my way over the Blue Bridge and along the Songhees for a bit, too at least get some steady running in.

Since I was going a little easier today I tried very hard to focus on my form and efficiency. It’s obviously pretty hard to actually watch yourself run to check your form but you can go by ‘feel’ and today things felt a little labored. Probably for many reasons; a little tired, shoes are done, and some residual soreness from Tuesday’s tire workout (couldn’t fix two out of the three today but I did, with some help from the Westshore Gang, fix my shoes woes by picking up a new pair of Nimbus this evening – Woohoo!!!). I worked on my efficiency by keeping a uniform cadence, and reminding myself of my posture, rhythm, and breathing on a constant basis – if nothing else it was a great mental exercise as there are always lots of distractions running through or near town midday.

Below is another Gobi video, this one was taken during Stage 3 as we were making our descent off the 3800m high mountain pass. It was one of our lowest points of the race; for about thirty to forty minutes I was wet, cold and miserable, everything sucked!

You’ll need to turn up your volume :-)
