The day before… “The Vancouver Island 24 Hour Relay”
May 30th, 2008 by Jarhead
Excited, nervous, apprehensive, pumped, anticipation - these are just a few of the feelings that are flipping around inside of me at the moment.
It’s the day before my first attempt at a 24 hour endurance event and I’m trying to get all the organizing loose ends tied up; picked up a tent from Pacific Sport this morning, have a weigh scale and some tarps for walls coming this afternoon, need to stop by the Relay office one last time to drop off the final donation pack and pick up a few items, have a couple loads of laundry to do, would like to make it to Centennial Stadium some time this afternoon or early evening to set up the Support/Aid Tent and then hopefully spend the rest of the evening eating, hydrating, and relaxing with my feet up.
Yesterday I was able to get my hair project all finished up. I called an expert, Nikki from Wiink, and she hooked me up with a great product - Punky Colour Violet. And then with T’s help last night my bleached blond locks were transformed into a purple sharks fin
I will be having my pre-race meal at Mo:Lé tomorrow morning, we will be there when the doors open at 8am. Would love some company so if anyone is up at that time and in for some amazing food come on down!
Good luck to you this weekend. Hopefully, you’ll get a good nights rest in before the 24h run.
