- While I did start the Relay on the first lap this award is all thanks to Jim Finlayson who came out and cranked the first lap as the ‘official’ runner for our team, he even beat the lead vehicle! Thanks again Jim - you ROCK!!!
Best Team Spirit Award – See Donald Run!
This award is presented to the Team, which has displayed the Best Spirit throughout and leading up to, the relay. See Donald Run! is a solo team consisting of Donald Peterson, who ran over 54 laps in 24 hours by himself.
- I was a bit shocked when they called out my name for this one, and even more so by the very supportive and enthusiastic reaction from the other participants, campers, staff and volunteers - it filled me with quite a wave of emotion. Although this was definitely not a solo venture as I had an incredible support crew behind me, ensuring I was eating and drinking, joining me for laps, telling me stories, fixing my blisters, helping me with gear changes, I even received a few massages, and of course there was the amazing food that was being delivered throughout the event from Mo:Lé Restaurant!
I couldn’t have done this without all of you there, thank you for all your support, encouragement and fellowship…
Way to go, Don! That’s very impressive - especially after the nasty blisters. I hope you have enough sense to do this only once!
Holy sh!t, DP, 200 kilometers…straight! Shocking. You’ve taken it to another level, my friend. Most important, though, congrats to you for all the inspiration (and $) you provided to the kids through your Herculean effort…

I am impressed. You are still a goof-head but this was a great thing you did. I left one of the photos up of your feet that you sent me so when joey got up and went to the computer it was the first thing he saw…heh…heh…
