What’s next?
Nov 13th, 2009 by Jarhead
It’s a question I’ve been hearing quite frequently lately and honestly I hadn’t given it too much thought until the latter part of this week and as they do; thoughts, goals and agendas are forming and I’ve come up with some loose plans that chart out my ‘What’s next’.
In the short term, over the next month or so, I have a couple of CrossFit challenges to compete in and one goal race.
* November 14th is the Nancy Challenge which is 5 Rounds for time of:
- 400m Run
- 15 Overhead Squats (65#)
* On November 28th I be participating in the second Crossfit Zone “Fight Gone Bad” Charitable Event
* And then in December I’ll be eagerly anticipating the Annual Dave Smart Tribute Beer Mile – which is my last goal race of the year, more on that later
My longer term goals include:
- To continue to CrossFit at Crossfit Zone
- Run either a 50 Miler or 100km early next year with the goal being a qualifying time for a 100 Miler (qualifying times for WS100 are; under 11 hours for 50 miles and under 14 hours for 100 kilometers).
- Run two 100 Milers in the next year or two
- In either 2011 or 2012 run Badwater
- and… I will get back to Costa Rica and run another Coastal Challenge

hey there don. i’m a frequent visitor of your writing and i have to say it’s all pretty darn inspiring. i’ve been doing crossfit w/os for a few months now and i always check in to see how you and rob are mixing it in with the running. one query, you often give the name of an exercise followed by a # – in this post #65. is this the weight you are using? cheers and keep up the solid work.
Hey Trevor,
Thanks for the comment!
Yes to the use of the # symbol as a weight, it is used to designate the number of pounds.
Are you a Victoria resident? You should come down to Crossfit Zone and join us for a WOD one day.
