Sprout Lake Getaway
July 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 2006It has been an amazing weekend! I will start off with Friday – it was a workday for me, pretty normal as far as that went. I did get out for a great run at lunch, the Macaulay Loop in 51:51. It was a stupid hot day and I could definitely feel it on the run. After work I picked up T and we came home for a quick stop to pick up our weekend gear.
We got totally spoiled this weekend. Wayne and his wife, Jill, own a home on Sprout Lake and were not using it this weekend and they offered it's use to T and I. We left Victoria at around 5:30pm and after a couple of stops on the way to get some dinner, ice cream from DQ and pick up some groceries made it to Sprout Lake around 9pm. We unloaded the car and explored the house quickly then went straight down to the dock and jumped in the lake! After our quick night swim we spent the rest of the night relaxing up at the house.
Saturday morning after breakfast it was straight down to the dock and other then a couple of trips to the house for one thing or another we spent the entire day down there. Our only extended absence from the dock was to get some dinner but then it was right back down and right back in the lake.
Sunday morning was much the same. We spent a couple of hours on the dock before cleaning up and getting things ready to head home. We made a couple stops on the way home, a walk through Cathedral Grove, a short visit with Otto and Tini in Errington and a stop at Moby Meats to pick up some turkey sausages for dinner.
